Here's to Spring!

I don't know about you, but I love spring break.  It refreshes us, and pulls us away from winter.  Whether it means going to an exotic location, hanging out with friends and family, or just a much-needed break from school, here are a couple simple ways to celebrate spring.

1. Wear bright colors: I think we all tend to dress a little drear-ily in the long months of January and February, but it is March now, and colors are much appreciated.  Even if the ground is still covered with snow, there begins to be that feeling of spring, and it's fun to dress like it.  So break out your bright nail polish, colorful shorts (maybe with tights still!) and start thinking spring.

2. Have lunch with a friend: It doesn't take a lot of money or effort to go out, but it is fun.  Call him/her up and go out.  Maybe pick something up from the grocery, and eat at the park.  Have them over and make paninis at home.  Or drive/bike to some remote cafe you've been meaning to try out.

3.  Stretch your creativity muscles: Maybe that means re-starting your blog, or blogging more often.  Pick up a notebook and pencil from the store and sketch something inspiring every day.  Maybe join in the March Photo a Day Challenge {here} or join in the soon-to-come-April challenge.  Maybe this means literally stretching your muscles and joining a dance class.  Find some way to be creatively productive this month, as the weather gets brighter and cheerier.

Here's to a bright spring!

Inspired.

Hello to you all! A belated Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

I've been feeling especially creative lately. Which is great because I wouldn't classify myself as an artsy person per say. Thats part of why I love watching all the other girls on here and all the creative things to do with just makeup or a hairstyle! So I thought I'd try and be creative too. See how it works out. I've been planning on doing a haul video one of these days, but after seeing Caroline's adorable one I'm a little scared too. :P So I planned on retreating back to pictures to show you some of the things I got for Christmas. But then I thought, wheres the fun in that? I always do that.

Thats when I got inspired. I love looking at lookbooks. They're like magazines but so much better. Ruche always has the loveliest ones and some of those fancy-schmancy designers who I'll probably never get to wear but can still drool over generally have splendid ones as well. And sometimes they even have look films. I'm sure they're not really called that. Probably something much more official. But I don't know the term. So in my mind they're lookfilms. Anyway I decided to show you my new Christmas dress and coat in a lookfilm. Fancy right? So here's my first attempt. Before you make any judgments keep in mind I filmed this by my lonesome with an iPhone. Come to think of it I must have looked quite hilarious prancing about, balancing my phone on various trees and rocks to take a video...  All this to say I hope you enjoy watching as much as I enjoyed making it. <3

Oh and notice I tried do Caroline's french make-up tutorial in this as well! See I told you I was inspired.

Inspired.

Heyyyyyyloooo followers and hopefully soon to be followers!  :D

Emilyann here.  I was posting on my Main Blog this morning, as I am following the Facebook 30 Day Challenge via my blog.  The day, day fifteen, was set aside for me to discuss who inspired me.  I felt myself torn because I'm inspired by different people in different ways.  I ended up choosing the person who inspired me in my faith and my hunger for knowledge, but I still wanted to do a post about who inspires me in my style choices, so what better place to do it than on our collab blog?

I'm mostly inspired by vintage fashion, because I love the classic look.  If I had to pick a word to describe what I love in fashion, it would definitely be the word "classic".  I love things feminine and pretty.  I love pink.  I love light pastel-y colors.  I love...

Zooey Deschanel.  I adore her cute, pretty makeup, her hipster bangs, her vintage dresses.  Her HUGE eyes, and adorable accessories.  Her attitude is perhaps her biggest accessory, though.  She's sweet and sophisticated, and it works for her.

Next is...

Vanessa Hudgens.  Drastic change, right?  I love how effortless her style is, and how she always looks CUTE.  If I could steal a celebrity's closet, I would definite steal Vanessa's.  She's also been my hair cut inspiration.  I've had her short cut from High School Musical 2, and her long hair you see in the picture.

Last but definitely not least, Lauren Conrad from the Hills.  She's a designer, writer, has her own line at Kohl's and is just all around really gorgeous.  Her hair always looks amazing and super laid back California.  I like how her clothes are easy, no hassle, and not crazy.  I love fashion, but I'm not as daring as some people are.  She's just relaxed enough for me.

So there you have it.  I'm a crazy mix of vintage and modern.  Formal and relaxed.

Who inspires you?

By the way, a little preview of what's to come:  I ordered a bunch of things from eyeslipsface.  (Or E.L.F. cosmetics), which I plan on doing a haul/review with.  So, once I have them, and they come in the mail, I'll give them a test run and then tell yall how they work for me, kay?

Have a great week.  :)
